Ah well there is a big difference between the Shopify and WordPress.
In WordPress you need to spend a time and money on investing a SSL Certificate for your online store and struggling to meet PCI Compliance and then spending a lot of time to do which plugin to buy and implement it on your WordPress eCommerce site.
Yes, I agree in generally people go for WooCommerce and you get plenty of plugin options to get in and you need time to select few. In WordPress any one can get unmatched power of working with WooCommerce with tons of themes, plugins virtually anything you can think of, from adding images to SEO. But e-commerce involves complicated and technical things like SSL certificates, PCI compliance requirements, and payment gateways which quickly become overwhelming and frustrating.
Shopify is typical platform build for eCommerce and in terms of themes & add-ons availability is very limited. Shopify makes the e-commerce aspect of setting up your store easy by giving you a hosted solution that includes all your basic e-commerce needs out of the box, but you give up a ton of flexibility in terms of the themes and add-ons that are available to you. Shopify is an all-in-one fully hosted e-commerce solution. That means they bundle in their own web hosting with their service.
Both Shopify and WordPress include a built-in content management system (CMS) and blogging platform. You can let the numbers speak for themselves as to which one is better. WordPress powers almost 23% of all the websites on the internet. With all those people running their sites on WordPress, you will find that WordPress is very secure, easy to use, and powerful enough to do virtually anything you can think of.
So my conclusion is that better to go with Shopify rather than going with WordPress and I tell why. First I'm a WordPresss developer and build many themes with other authors. If you go with Shopify you get complete eCommerce solutions including themes, hosting solutions, security and so on and in WordPress you have to find a hosting company who provides VPS or Dedicated Server then you have to think off the security of your online store, SSL Certificate, PCI Compliance, themes & it's customization works, plugins and payment gateway. You get all those great options in Shopify so if i was you then I go with Shopify.
